Synchrontron radiation is a device which creates a strong light produced when a narrow dispersion of electron beam, which has almost the same speed as light, occurs when the beam changes its direction. The usage of synchrontron radiation is increasing rapidly over the years. Synchrontron radiation is not a device which is only used in chemistry and physiology but by producing strong light source Pohang synchrontron radiation aims to use the light in various areas of High-Tech Research. The international name for this synchrotron radiation is Pohang Light Source (PLS). Using synchrontron radiation, one can choose light with any wave length including ultra-violet light and x-rays when executing various experiments. It produces 1 million times brighter light than the previous light sources, By using this bright light it is possible to implement experiments which had been previously impossible, and thus great improvement in life science, environment science, medical research as well as basic and applied science is expected.
