Walking on the pathway along the North Seaside Highway, one can find Hwanho Sunrise Park, with its beautiful seascape of Pohang as the backdrop.

Having cost 40 billion won to build, the park was opened on the 3rd of May, 2001, and the address of the site is San 56-1, Hwanho-dong, Buk-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. 
 
The view at the park is well complemented by evergreen pine trees, and the park itself is comprised of 6 inner parks of varying themes. 
 
As one enters, the first sight is Joongang (Central) Park, where the Grand Waterfall, a programmable fountain and an outdoor stage exists. These facilities provide visitors with unique experiences through a wide range of events. 
 
The seaside park is located on top of a slope on the shore, where one can take in an expansive view of the sea. Here, one can enjoy the dramatic sunrise for which this part of the country is famous. Also, there is an outdoor stage, a picnic area and a plaza with a view of the sea. 
 
The water park is engineered so that the water flowing off the Michun-suk duct is slowed down at an outlet and turned into a gentle flow through the bottom half of the structure, which reminds visitors of the flow of a river as it joins the sea. This is the kind of place where one can relax gazing at the gentle flow of the water. 
 
The Traditional Playground is a recreational spot for residents of Pohang and other local regions. It includes an outdoor stage, a traditional game field, a pagoda and more. The kids‘ playground, which was built on spare land, has an actual playground and a gateball ground. Playing here, kids learn how to get along, be adventurous and make new friends. 
 
The Cutting-edge Science Park reflects Pohang‘s image as a hi-tech, industrial city with a bright future. 
 
Here, one can find a science museum where it is possible to experience cutting-edge science. There is also an outdoor stage, artificial waterfall, programmable water fountain and a miniature hill with pinwheels.

The annual International Pohang Seaside Drama Festival, which takes place on 4 outdoor stages at the park, plays a big part in promoting Pohang as an elegant, cultural and artistic city.
